Timna Park is hands down one of the most beautiful parks in the workd. It has an incredible variety of scenic, geological and archological sites. There are a ton of trails and it’s just a thirty-minute drive from Eilat. Technically, it is accessible by public transportation (bus) from Eilat. But it is a fairly significant walk from the bus stop to the main entrance, and the typical distance between attractions is about 5km.
The concentration of minerals gave the rocks various hues, special shapes, and even led the ancients who lived in the area to mine the rocks and find copper. (The oldest mine in the world — according to the park — is in the park).
